Morning Service: 11:00am, Gelliwastad Road
We know that attending a new church can be a very intimidating experience. You ask yourself questions like, "Are they friendly?," or "Where do I sit?," or "What happens, when?" and "Will they point me out because I am new?" We hope we're friendly, you may sit anywhere, and no, you will not be pointed out because you're new! To help answer some questions, we've put together this page. From it, you will find information such as location, times of services, child care, and what to expect during our services. Where does Temple Baptist meet on Sundays and at what time?We meet in Temple, Gelliwastad Road in the centre of Pontypridd (Visit our location page for a map, written directions and photograph of the church). Free parking is available behind the Bus Station in Chapel Street (see map). From there, it's approximately a 2 minute walk. Our Sunday morning service starts at 11:00am What should I expect on Sunday morning? Entering the front doors, you will come into the foyer. Here you'll be met by our welcome team. They will happily assist you with any questions you may have and provide you with a copy of our weekly church notice sheet (aka "Tempo" which can be downloaded from this website). From the foyer you'll enter the main church hall. Please feel free to sit anywhere you like. We enjoy greeting and chatting with one another before the worship begins at 11:00am. Our service lasts about an hour and a half. The first twenty minutes or so is specifically family-oriented, with all age worship and teaching. The children and young people (from babes to around 16) then leave the main hall to go into their own Sunday School classes. Back in the main hall, we begin to study the Bible together. Since we consider ourselves a "teaching church," the talks usually focus on how we can apply biblical principles to our daily lives. This is usually followed by a time of praise and worship, where we sing in response to what God has taught us that morning. On the first Sunday of the month we also celebrate the Lord's Supper (or "communion") together in the morning service. As with many churches, we take up an offering during the service, so that our church members can cheerfully contribute their voluntary gifts as an offering of worship to God. Please do not feel obligated to give or feel embarrassed at letting the offering basket simply pass you by. After the Service Tea and Coffee are served. This takes place in the rear hall (just follow the crowd!) and is a great time to meet people and catch up with what's happening in their lives. Want to learn more about Temple Baptist?
