Ministry at a Local Residential Home
Every first Sunday of the month (eg next Sunday 5/12) a short service is held at Duffryn Ffrwd between 2.30 and 3.00pm. The majority of residents really appreciate this effort on our part. If you would like to know more about this work, please speak to Vivien Thomas.
On Saturday 11 November we have a training day for people involved with children and youth work within the church. This is in the Gelliwastad building from 9am to 5pm. Helpers need only attend the morning, while leaders should attend the afternoon also.
It is a requirement of our Safeguarding Policy that everyone who is involved with children and youth work must undergo regular training.
For more information on the training course, please contact Janet Williams
Christmas Wrapped Up
We have about 130 year 2 schoolchildren from 4 local schools coming through our doors to enjoy our Nativity presentation and activities in a few weeks time. Mon 4/12, Tues 5/12 all day from 9.30am – 2.30pm; Wed 6/12 morning 9.30 – 11.30am; and Thurs 7/12 afternoon 12.30 – 2.30pm. Wayne Adams will be leading this and is gathering his team. Please contact him if you would like to help out or just need further information, especially if you have not been involved before.
Don’t know if like me, you often feel like a “johnny-come-lately”, always playing catch-up - whether it’s the latest TV hit series, or a new publishing sensation that’s taking the world by storm… But recently I finally got round to reading the book “What’s So Amazing About Grace?” by Philip Yancey. I suspect many will have already read it – but if not, can I encourage you to get hold of a copy and read it – it is excellent.
Last Sunday Mark spoke very powerfully on the need for us to ‘Live Gracefully’, to truly understand the life changing fact of God’s Grace and that it comes to us free of charge, no strings attached – something that seems to go against every instinct of our humanity. But it’s true and as followers of Jesus, we really need to grasp, ‘What is so amazing about Grace!’ Andy Sparkes

A big thank you to everybody who helped with the refurbishment of the side hall, which has been a huge improvement. Also thank you to everyone who contributed to the sponsorship of the floor. The Adopt a Square scheme raised £2530 towards the cost of the refurbishment.
