Church Matters – Dates for your Diary
There will be a baptismal service on Sunday 19 March. If you are considering Baptism, then please speak to the Elders or other LT member. There will be a church meeting on Sunday 2 April following the morning service and after consumption of packed lunches.
Our presentations of the Easter story to year 5 and year 6 schoolchildren from local schools will be happening during the week of 3 to 7 April 2017, especially Mon, Tues a Wed that week. We already have four schools booked in. This is more complex than the Nativity presentations to younger children and requires a bigger team. All sorts of help are needed and, in particular, those gifted in drama for both male and female roles are sought. If you are free and would like to take part, then please contact Janet Williams, Colin Sparkes or the church office. Thank you.
Fairtrade fortnight 27 Feb to 12Mar - Don't Feed Exploitation
We are now in the middle of Fairtrade Fortnight. This is held annually to remind people that many farmers who produce our basic foods do not get a Fair wage for the work that they do. In fact for many people their conditions are similar to slave labour. By buying food with the Fairtrade label you are ensuring that people are being paid fairly and that their working conditions are monitored. Why not decide to switch to Fairtrade and make a difference. There is a stall at the back of the church to help you to make the switch. We can make a difference to the poor in the world by the way we shop.
