Tempo - Sunday 10th September 2017

This Sunday

Wayne Adams will be introducing our new teaching series

A Special Celebration

Dewi and Maggie Hughes celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary later this month.  You are cordially invited to celebrate with them when they hold a drop in here at the church for tea and cakes on 30 September from 3pm to 5pm.

They would like to express their heartfelt thanks for your prayers and kindnesses over recent months.

A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever

The talented ladies of Craftypatch and Ponty Patchers have been preparing all year for a special exhibition of their work to be held here on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 October.

Wayne Adams Ordination Service

Wayne has completed his studies at the South Wales Baptist College.  There will be a formal ordination service and celebration during the afternoon of 21 October.

Small Groups

Those groups that take a break over the summer will be restarting.  May God use the relationships formed from this model of church to bless us and others.

This is a good opportunity to think about becoming part of a small group if you are not already.

Student Activities

Many of our students will be returning during this next week to resume their studies for another year.  As always, there will be a new crop of young folks starting their studies.

Please pray for travelling mercies, a quick settling in period especially for new students, new leadership of the Christian Union and the events organised during Freshers Week 18 – 22 September.

May Christians amongst this intake find a home from home and flourish in local churches in the area, including this one.

Please pray also for the students we have known who have now finished their studies and moved on from Pontypridd.

Use of our church by community groups

Both of our buildings are used by several community groups.  May God grant our leadership wisdom as they make decisions about the many requests we get for the use of our spaces.

 Our Evangelism

We are grateful and rejoice in the way that God uses us, not just individually in our families and friendship groups, but also via our regular church activities.  In particular:

Ø  Tiddlers at Temple and PALS – two church led pre-schoolers and carers groups

Ø  Craftypatch – a talented craft group led by godly women of this fellowship and others

Ø  Awesome Kids and JAM – two groups for children aged 5 to 11

Ø  Time Off and Top Up – two groups for older folks

Ø  The Lighthouse – outreach to the youth of our town and an exploration of faith for some

Ø  Graig Meals and Bible Studies – regular community events and activities

Let us pray for inspiration, vision, guidance and perseverance for the leaders and helpers, and for God’s blessing on the participants as we enter a new year of reaching out to Pontypridd.
