Practicing Hospitality - Move to the middle ground!
Space has become increasingly tight on Sunday mornings, often making it difficult for our guests to find a seat. One way we can demonstrate hospitality is simply to move to the middle seats in a row - so that people don't have to face the embarrassment of having to squeeze by! You might even want to take the opportunity this morning and do something totally radical - and sit in a different place in church!  If you don’t know everybody, moving to a new place might allow you to get to know somebody new.

Up for the Challenge?

The Christian writer Chuck Swindoll wrote, “I know of no other single practice in the Christian life more rewarding than memorising Scripture...  No other single exercise pays greater spiritual dividends. Your prayer life will be strengthened. Your witnessing will be more effective. Your attitudes and outlook will begin to change. Your confidence and assurance will be enhanced”

Strange then isn’t it, that we sometimes consider learning Scripture to be just the domain of Sunday School? No more! Because starting this month, we in the Sunday School want to share with you our monthly memory verses and encourage everyone to commit to learning them with us.

During October we’re going to be learning Romans 5 v 8

But God has shown us how much he loves us – it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! Romans 5 v 8

So are you up for the challenge and will you join us in memorising this fantastic verse from the book of Romans? Hope so! Temple Sunday School

Second Collection

On every first Sunday of the month we have a second collection for a specific cause. Today’s second collection is given to Hope Ministries of First Baptist Church in Mbale, Uganda.

Cor Merched Ynysybwl

This ladies choir has relocated to Temple, meeting every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm.  Our repertoire ranges from musical theatre to Welsh folk songs, ballads and sacred pieces.  We would welcome new members – reading music is not essential but enjoying it is!  For further info please contact jomorris16@live.co.uk  or just turn up and sing.

Introduction to Playwriting

There is a free workshop for anyone aged 15-18 on Saturday 13th October from 10 am at Sherman Theatre, Cardiff.  Learn from award-winning Welsh playwright, Brad Birch, create characters, write scenes and develop ideas for a full length play.  Please book with David Mercatali david.mercatali@shermantheatre.co.uk or ring 029 2064 6975.

Christmas Wrapped Up

We will be presenting the Christmas Nativity Story to year 1 and 2 schoolchildren from local schools from Monday 3 to Wednesday 5 December 9.30am to 2.30pm.  There are many roles to be filled including puppetry, AV technical, making mince pies, making Christmas cards, and general helping.

Please speak to Wayne Adams or email the office if you are able to offer assistance for any of the above time slots, mornings or afternoons.  Thank you.
