why do we give?

The Bible says in Matthew 6:24 that a top competitor for our commitment to Jesus is money. Giving allows us to demonstrate that He is more important to us than material things. As a church we would encourage each other to tithe - which just means “tenth”. We all recognise this is a significant step of obedience, but we believe that we can trust God in all aspects of our lives - including our finances.

As a church family we want to rise to the challenge of Acts 4:32 as we pool our money as an act of worship to serve and worship God, care for the poor and give a warm welcome which reflects God’s generosity to our community. It’s not about whether we’re

how to give:

give online

You can give online to the work of Temple or to other organisations Temple supports and current campaigns online via NowDonate:

give by text

To give by text message, you can text TEMPLE to 70085 to gift £5. Texts will cost the gift amount plus one standard network rate message (and so will appear on your phone bill).

By giving by text you’ll also be opting into hearing more from us. If you would like to donate but don’t wish to hear more from us, please text TEMPLENOINFO instead.

give on sunday

If anyone would like to give on a Sunday, there’s an offering box at the back of the church, alongside a contactless donation point. On the first Sunday of each month, we also have a second collection for one of the organisations we support.

If you are visiting us on a Sunday, please don't feel under any pressure at all to give - we’re just pleased to have you as our guest.

give by standing order

If you’re a committed attendee or member and you’d like to give more regularly to Temple, a convenient way to do so is by setting up a standing order. Contact the church finance team for the information you’ll need - and don’t forget to fill in a gift aid form if you’re eligible (see below)!

gift aid

However you choose to give, as long as you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid enables you to boost the value of your donations by 25p for every £1 given. That means a £10 donation becomes £12.50, or a £100 donation becomes £125 and so on - at no additional cost to you. What a brilliant scheme!

If you haven’t already set this up, and you’d like to maximise your giving this way, download and fill in the form on this page, then send it by email to the Finance Team. You only need to do this once and as long as we know your gifts in future are from you, we will automatically request the Gift Aid on your behalf.

For higher rate taxpayers, you are also entitled to claim additional tax relief on your donations.
